Introduction to Program Studies

Faculty of Creative and Heritage Technology (FTKW) offers TWO (2) courses of study recognized by PSD and MQA based on no. PSD reference (L) S.180 / 8 / 1-96 Klt.7 (59) - 16/08/2011 and approval date of the Ministry on April 17, 2008. The program of study is:

Course registration is done by students online through their respective student portal and divided into two levels, namely Pre-Registration Course
and Real Registration. For pre-registration, it was conducted before the end of the semester, and actual registration is made two days before the lecture begins. The student can make any changes during the exact registration period.

Program Component

The structure of the program of study offered in UMK involves the following courses:

UNIVERSITY COURSE

 Course Required University

This course aims to make students a responsible citizen, dedicated to contributing towards national development.

 

 English & Foreign Language

This course aims to improve students' communication capabilities. 

 Co-Curriculum

This course aims to provide exposure to students with co-curricular activities to enhance student's soft skills.

 

 Economic Community Development and Development

This course is a social service or community service program that emphasizes volunteer activities to help communities improve their socio-economic capabilities. This program focuses on the concept of social entrepreneurship (Social Entrepreneurship) conducted for four (4) semesters by placing students in a community identified. Students will apply all knowledge and skills in their respective areas of focus including the soft skills of Experiencing Learning or 'Learning Through Experience'. Learners will be practically exposed to the work management regarding principles, types of services and work practices as well as the socio-economic development community. Students are also exposed to methods of sharing ideas and information to raise the socio-economic level of society.

 

FACULTY CORE COURSES
Courses that include knowledge and professional skills in core fields taken at the faculty include the basic design of products, art, and computer, painting and studio skills.

COURSE COURSE OF THE PROGRAM
The program's core courses emphasize on specialization such as intercultural design, educational methodology, archeology and heritage, product design, multimedia, textile and fashion design, visual communication and traditional art design.

ELECTRONIC / MINOR COURSE
'Student in Entreprise Program' (SIEP) is a program of recruitment or entrepreneurial skills enhancement program organized by the Faculty for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan students to provide additional input to classroom learning activities in which the program uses a combined pedagogical approach such as observation, inquiries, learning through experience, case studies and simulation activities. The pedagogical approach that will be used is also adjusted and adapted to the learning level and the recognized theme.

SIEP PROGRAMS
'Student in Enterprise Program' (SIEP) is a program of recruitment or entrepreneurial skills enhancement program organized by the Faculty for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan students to provide additional input to classroom learning activities in which the program uses a combined pedagogical approach such as observation, inquiries, learning through experience, case studies and simulation activities. The pedagogical approach that will be used is also adjusted and adapted to the learning level and the recognized theme.

Program Handling

 

COURSE EVALUATION
Evaluation of courses in the program of study offered in FTKW is divided into TWO (2) categories as follows:


 
Final exam courses. Students will be assessed during the semester period in the form of tests, tutorials, assignments, projects and quizzes with a weighted score of between 60% - 70% and the final exam with a weighted score of between 30% - 40%.


 
Fully Assessment based courses. Students will be assessed during the semester period test form, tutorial, assignment, quiz, presentation, project development and exhibition by Invitation and Internal Assessors with 100% weighted scores.

 

APPLICATION FOR ADDED COURSES

  Application for Add and Drop (Drop) any course after the registration period can be made using a UM-A-2 form.

(Please refer to the Academic Rules of Books Item 4.4.1 and 4.4.2)

 

APPLICATION OF EXCLUSION AND TRANSACTION OF CREDIT HOURS

  An application for an exception and credit transfer is made using an MS-A-3 form. The completed form shall get a certificate from the Academic Advisor before being sent to Dean's office. (Please refer to the Book of Academic Rules Item 5.7.1)

NUMBER OF MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM CREDIT HOURS EVERY SEMESTER

  Students also need to ensure that Maximum Credit allowed to be taken/studied in each semester is 18 Credit and Credit . Minimum is 12 credits. Registration of more than 18 credits or less than 12 credits must be certified by the Academic Advisor

and the approval of the Dean. (Please refer to the Book of Academic Rules).

 

CLASS & TUTORIAL
  The theoretical teaching system is carried out through lectures and tutorials according to the timetable outlined in the timetable.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

  The Practical Class aims to develop a student theoretical understanding of the field being studied.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

  The theoretical teaching system is carried out through lectures and tutorials according to the timetable outlined in the timetable.

SEMINAR
  Seminar classes aim to train students to present their project or storytelling presentations and also have the opportunity to link theory to practice and even exposure to the latest developments in their respective fields.

STUDIO
  Project-based courses require students to complete the work in the studio.

Learning Outcomes

The results obtained after the expiration of the program "in the field" of the Creative Technology Bachelor's Degree (with Honors) ', the graduates obtained:
1. Ability to reward, promote and preserve creative technology globally.
2. Ability to create innovative designs inspired by cultural resources for contemporary use.
3. Be able to manage creative activities to generate entrepreneurial activity.
4. Ability to adopt the latest technology in the value of the creative industry.
5. Ability to apply the use of technology in the process of learning and creative industry research.


The results obtained after the expiration of the program "in the field" of the Bachelor of Arts degree (with Honors) ', the graduates obtained:
1. Love, appreciate, promote and help maintain the country's heritage globally.
2. Use creativity in legacy research to be more practical and innovative.
3. Effective in manipulating legacy and natural resources to generate entrepreneurial activity.
4. Effectively manage and promote the importance of environmental resources.
5. Effective management of legacy objects for conservation and preservation.
6. Wisely use technology in learning and researching the legacy process.
