Elective : Heritage Literature


The Heritage Literature Elective is one of the electives offered under the Bachelor Degree of Heritage Studies with Honors at the Department of Heritage Studies, Faculty of Creative Technology and Heritage, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. The aim of this elective is to produce graduates who are holistic and have resilience in dealing with various challenges in the world of work that they will face later. Accordingly, the Heritage Literature Elective offers courses related to the disciplines of humanities and literature. Among the courses are History of Malay Literature, Theory and Literary Criticism, Drama Criticism, Mythology, Fiction, Islamic Literature, Creative Writing Techniques, Legal Literature, Malay Magnum Opus, Literature in Film and Contemporary Malay Literature. The courses are contemporary in nature and coincide with current job requirements. In addition to being enriched with contemporary courses, students are also introduced to the application of heritage and cultural elements in Teaching and Learning (P&P). It is even more interesting when there are courses offered that utilize digital technology in P&P, which in turn allows students to apply it in producing their assignments. This situation makes the courses capable of providing students with digital technology skills when they are in the world of work later. In addition, aspects of entrepreneurship are also applied to coincide with the core of the university as an Entrepreneurship-Based University. In order to fulfill the core, students are also exposed to the methods of market literary works especially in the context of marketing using digital technology.
